Suprabeam M6r Reviewed by Brad's Backpack

Travel and outdoor gear site Brad's Backpack has put the Suprabeam M6r Multilamp through a proper hands-on test, and the verdict is a good one.

We met Brad at a trade show earlier in the year and sent an M6r out for testing. No brief, no input on the write-up. He carried it as everyday kit, used it on the trail, in the car and around the house, and reported back.

What he found

Build quality came out on top. Brad describes a torch that feels like solid metal in the hand despite weighing only 111g, right down to the clip, which is a part most brands cut corners on. Nothing rattles, nothing feels like it will wear out.

He rated the versatility just as highly. The M6r works as a torch, a headtorch on the supplied band, a helmet light and an area light thanks to the magnetic base. Sticking it to the car while checking the engine at night was the moment it won him over.

On output, 1100 lumens gives you a burst when you need to reach out, then steps back to a sustainable level so you keep a usable light for hours. In practice he found the mid setting more than enough for most jobs. Dimming mode stretches runtime out to 300 hours.

The removable USB-C battery got a thumbs up too. Charge it in place, or carry a spare and swap it in seconds when you are away from power for a few days.

He also came round to the transport lock after finding the torch had switched itself on in his rucksack. One press and a five second hold stops that happening.

For Brad's usage, he said he would prefer an adjustable head so the beam can be angled, and it took him a while to learn the single button sequences. Fair points, and worth knowing before you buy - we offer alternative flashlight and headtorch models within the Suprabam range that may be worth a look if adjustable beam angle is important to you.

His closing line sums it up. Despite the small size, he reckons it "packs a lot of power" and is a piece of kit he would not hesitate to take anywhere.

Two models, two power levels

The Suprabeam M6r Rechargeable Multilamp delivers 1100 lumens and a 105m beam in a 111g body.

If you want more reach, the M6xr steps up to 2000 lumens with a 165m throw and stepless dimming from 6 lumens up to full power. Same aluminium build, same mounting system, same USB-C battery format.

Both come with the battery, USB-C cable, headband, helmet mount, clip and wrist strap in the box.
